Advertising poster final designs - Liam Augur

This is the decided final poster which i made alteration to from the one below. I have tried to keep to the Channel 4 theme as best i could, aswell as putting my own ideas into it.

This idea and the idea are pretty similar apart from the masking tape on the photos, i first added this to make the collage effect look scruffy and authentic but when i had finished i thought the poster looked crowded and the tape was unnecessary.

This was my first idea which was created using photoshop and one simple still shot from the film. I based this idea on the E4 and Channel 4's poster templates. It is plain and simple and gives the key information about the programme, because it is so simple this poster could be used a month before the programme airs, as a teaser before the official poster is shown.

Poster Research - Liam Augur

It was quite hard to find channel 4 tv documentary posters on the internet but i did find this bus shelter poster. Like most channel 4 adverts, they seem to all follow a similar theme, the channel 4 is almost always present and farely large in proportion to the graphology. There is usually a simple colour and font theme and the basic information about the programme, like shown at the bottom in this example.

I like the faded crackling effect on this poster, it looks as if the poster has aged and faded. i think a similar effect on our poster might look good for our genre.

I like the idea of this poster, the photo is made to look a grainy black and white still from an old film which has stuck.

I like how this this photo has been edited to look almost distant and dark. It is hard to explain in words but the photo feels as if someone is looking back into the past and remembering a shocking memorie when seemed to be good. This is exactly what the documentary is about and once you know that, you can see the kind of "shadowed memory" imagery they are trying to create.

This is the basic layout for all channel 4 poster, there is usually a big channel 4 logo somewhere on the poster too. This design is a simple but effective one, but i don't know how it will suit our genre of programme.
